The fallout to the seeding of team in the Munster Senior championship has already begun with four counties boycotting the 2014 McGrath Cup. Waterford, Limerick, Clare and last season’s runners up Tipperary have all opted out of the competition. Their withdrawal is taken as a mark of protest against the seeded draw that took place recently for the 2014 senior championship. Six third level teams, IT Tralee, Limerick IT, Mary Immaculate College, UL, UCC and Cork IT, will join Kerry and Cork. Meanwhile in the Waterford Crystal Cup, Cork have opted out leaving the 5 other counties to compete along […]

Tonight John Allen has decided not to pursue a third year in charge of the Treaty men. The Cork native led Limerick to their first Munster SHC title since 1996 this year with a win over Cork, before bowing out to Clare in the All-Ireland Semi Final. No doubt over the next couple of weeks Allen will be linked to the vacant Waterford job. ttps://twitter.com/MartinKiely1/status/377510049738149888 Also another interesting fact on the situation with Limerick Hurling managers. Eamonn Cregan the last Limerick manager who's served 3 full seasons or more. That was 11 years ago #GAA (via @JohnFogartyIrl) — GAA Scores […]
Limerick Leader journalist, Jerome O’Connell, has confirmed that the Limerick Minors’ appeal for the replay of their All-Ireland MHC Semi Final v Galway has been unsuccessful. The appeal was made following a technical error by the Hawk-Eye system which was incorrectly given as a “miss” despite looking like it went over the bar. The DRA (Disputes Resolution Authority) were the final ruling body on the issue and decided that a replay was not required. Confirmed that Limerick GAA have lost their All Ireland minor hurling appeal to the DRA. That ends the process — Jerome O'Connell (@JeromeSport) September 3, 2013

As I’m sure you’ve heard, HawkEye had a bit of an issue during today’s minor clash between Limerick and Galway. The referee required confirmation from the score decision software for Limerick’s first point of the game. Bizarrely the graphic showed the score going between the post, but the decision displayed “MISS” as the message to the referee. HawkEye was then suspended for the rest of the game and the Senior semi final between Clare and Limerick which followed. We’ll be discussing this issue on our weekly podcast which will be released on Tuesday 20th August. Video uploaded by Caomhán O’Bolghuídhír
