GAA Season Schedule Proposal

The hot topic at the minute (or as always?) is the GAA season schedule.

I’ve drafted a proposal that is a bit radical compared to other suggestions but I feel addresses the many issues that the current inter county and club season face. This proposal looks at issues such as match day gaps, a calendar year club championship, a condensed inter county season and the better treatment of the three lower tiers in championship hurling.

I know there are no plans as yet for an U20 hurling championship but I’ve proposed this idea to ensure that less players are affected by playing both this grade and senior while still maintaining a bridge grade from minor to senior.

There may be a few issues that require ironing out but I feel that this suggestion is a good starting point.

Feedback is most welcome. Contact info@gaascores.com

  1. Well done Conor, a lot of work went into your planner. I’ve been thinking along similar lines for a while, I think you’re quite close to the ideal situation. I’ll come back to you again with more in depth thoughts.
